Beware the Bargain
A cheap carpet can turn into an expensive mistake. It is often worth spending that little extra to get a flooring that will not only look good when it’s laid, but will stay looking good for years to come.
Beware of products that have:
- No guarantees
- No certificates for performance tests
- No recourse if things go wrong
Things to consider:
- Is the product guaranteed?
- What happens if there is a problem?
- Will it last?
- Are certificates available for relevant performance standards?
- Has it been fitted properly?
- What recommendations are in the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)?
- Are you confident in your supplier?
- Are the products designed for heavy traffic?
- Can you contact your supplier if there is a problem?
- Can they provide you with a site survey and recommend the right products for the right area?
