Beware the Bargain

Beware the Bargain

A cheap carpet can turn into an expensive mistake. It is often worth spending that little extra to get a flooring that will not only look good when it’s laid, but will stay looking good for years to come.

Beware of products that have:

  • No guarantees
  • No certificates for performance tests
  • No recourse if things go wrong

Things to consider:

  1. Is the product guaranteed?
  2. What happens if there is a problem?
  3. Will it last?
  4. Are certificates available for relevant performance standards?
  5. Has it been fitted properly?
  6. What recommendations are in the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)?
  7. Are you confident in your supplier?
  8. Are the products designed for heavy traffic?
  9. Can you contact your supplier if there is a problem?
  10. Can they provide you with a site survey and recommend the right products for the right area?
