Artificial Hockey Surfaces by Playrite installed at Newcastle School

Church High School in Newcastle has recently benefitted from the installation of a state-of-the-art synthetic pitch installed by Brambledown featuring Playrite’s Matchwinner surface.
Matchwinner is a high performance vertical loop multi sports needlepunch surface which is suitable for all sports at community level. Meeting EN 15330 part 2 standards as well as being accredited by the Federation of International Hockey, Matchwinner is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and can be used with shock absorbing layer Matchpad to lower ball bounce and offer extra cushioning underfoot.
The school were lucky enough to have Newcastle United midfielders Dan Gosling and Danny Guthrie at the official opening of the new all-weather sports pitch, which they hope will give Church High’s students the opportunity to develop their sporting skills across a wide variety of disciplines.
Caroline Fitzgerald, head of PE at the school explained how: “Having an all-weather area will give us the opportunity to develop our next-generation of hockey and netball players, as well as widening the curriculum to include everything from lacrosse to football.”
A synthetic surface from Playrite, such as Matchwinner, is suitable for multi sport use helping to get the most from the available space and funding.
