Bedfordshire University

Heckmondwike FB, the UK’s leading manufacturer of fibre bonded carpet and carpet tiles have installed their leading Supacord and Hippo products at Bedfordshire University.

Both products have featured strongly in the new Liberty Park building, a brand new purpose-built residence located on campus giving residents full access to the University of Bedfordshire. A total of 14,000m2 of Supacord was installed in Blueberry and Anthracite along with 200m2 of the entrance area product, Hippo in Anthracite.

Both Supacord and Hippo are popular in education and public sector buildings and are installed in schools and universities across the country. Hippo is part of the Entrance Area range from Heckmondwike FB, its specification ensures it’s extremely tough, durable and easy to maintain, while acting as an interceptor, removing dirt and moisture from shoes. Hippo comes with a rubber waffle backing and can also be loosed layed in small areas or footwells. Supacord has become firmly established as the leading fibre bonded contract carpet solution for the UK education sector. Its enhanced acoustic properties to reduce noise pollution and thermal properties which conserve heat are ideal for the installation at Bedfordshire University.

Chayne Whittington, Area Sales Manager for Heckmondwike FB said, “Both Supacord and Hippo were obvious choices for the university’s new student development. The heavy contract specification and hard wearing design of both products made them ideal for the everyday life of students at the university.”

Supacord and Hippo are both available in a range of colourways and can be used to incorporate bespoke designs into installations, whether it be a loose lay mat for an entrance area or an inlaid design into a classroom.
